JK HEALTHY MEANS PSYCHOTHERAPY
About JK:
I've been in practice for over 25 years, supporting those who are interested in developing insight, depth and tools for coping and growth. I'm a continuous learner and avid reader, and as a therapist am always expanding my skillset.

Work History:

I started counseling in college as a peer Resident Advisor, and also with our Rape and Domestic Violence, HIV Testing, and Sexual Health Programs. I attended the USC School of Social Work and graduated with a focus on Mental Health. I did internships at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Services Center as well as St. John's Child and Family Wellness Center.
I began my career helping children cope and function with their mental health, family and school concerns. I transitioned into Pediatric and Adult Hospice Care helping people explore meaning of life and prepare for end of life issues. From there I continued on to UCLA Medical Center, where I helped people adjust and live with chronic and acute medical conditions. All the while, I maintained a private practice that focused on working predominantly with creatives, having been a professional opera singer myself.
For the next 10 years I worked at what is now known as The Entertainment Community Fund, Los Angeles, where I was the clinical supervisor for their longterm care program, supporting seniors, people living with HIV, and people with disabilities. There, I further honed my skillset in supporting people in Entertainment through the ups and downs of the industry, while keeping themselves and their creative lives vibrant. Most recently I've been the head of clinical social work and care coordination for Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Oncology Services, supporting staff and the wellbeing of patients and families receiving treatment for cancer at 5 locations.

Over my career, I've trained many interns and associates to become psychotherapists, provided clinical supervision and consultation to Licensed Clinicians, yet always returned to providing psychotherapy services to people who wish to improve their quality of life.
